Ojas — Terms & Conditions
Status: publisher identity, contact details and pricing completed 26 August 2026. ⚠️ NOT REVIEWED BY A LAWYER. Ojas ships worldwide from day one, so these terms are read by consumers under EU, UK and US law as well as Indian law, and §12's liability cap and §13's choice of forum are the clauses least likely to survive that unchanged. Still requires review by qualified counsel alongside the Privacy Policy. It is written to match what the app actually does as of 16 August 2026; §14 lists what must be true before it is published, including the subscription terms, which describe billing that is not live yet.
By using Ojas you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please don't use the app. Your data is covered separately by our Privacy Policy, which is part of these terms.
1. The short version
- Ojas helps you track what you eat. It is not a doctor, a dietitian, or a medical device, and nothing in it is medical advice (§3).
- The nutrition numbers are estimates, some produced by AI. They are useful for spotting patterns, not for precision (§4).
- Allergy warnings are a help, never a safety guarantee. Always read the label (§5).
- Ojas is a paid app, billed through Google Play, and you can cancel any time (§7).
- Your food diary is yours. You can export it or delete everything (§9).
The sections below are the actual terms.
2. Who may use Ojas
You must be 18 or older. Ojas is not designed for children and we do not knowingly provide it to them.
Do not use Ojas if you have, or are recovering from, an eating disorder, or if calorie tracking has been harmful for you in the past. Tracking is not appropriate for everyone, and no feature in this app can tell when it is doing you harm.
If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, managing a medical condition, taking medication that interacts with diet, or under 18, please use Ojas only alongside advice from a qualified professional.
3. Ojas is not medical advice
Ojas is a wellness and self-tracking tool. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease or condition.
Everything the app produces — calorie and macro targets, the coaching text, the monthly report, weight projections, BMI, wellness suggestions, the pregnancy/breastfeeding adjustment, and any nutrient guidance — is general information, generated from what you have logged. None of it is a clinical recommendation, and none of it accounts for your medical history, medication or test results.
Always consult a qualified doctor or dietitian before making significant changes to your diet, and especially before restricting your intake. Never disregard professional advice, or delay seeking it, because of something this app displayed. If you think you may have a medical emergency, contact a doctor or emergency services immediately.
4. About the numbers
They are estimates, and we are direct about that.
- AI estimates. When a food is not in our database, its nutrition is reconstructed by an AI model from a typical recipe and portion. This is a starting point you can edit before logging, not a measurement.
- Photo scanning can misidentify food. We ask you to confirm or correct what it saw, and we measure how often it is right — treat that as a floor, not a score.
- Packaged food data comes from Open Food Facts, an open database entered by volunteers. Products get reformulated and entries can be wrong. Check the pack.
- Portions are the largest source of error in any food tracker, and no photo, description or database can know exactly what was on your plate.
- Activity data comes from your phone or wearable through Health Connect, not from us, and is only as accurate as the device that recorded it.
We build the app to avoid inventing figures — where we have no data, the app is built to say so rather than guess. But we do not warrant that any number in Ojas is accurate, complete or suitable for any particular purpose, and you should not rely on it for medical or clinical decisions.
5. Allergy and diet warnings
Ojas can warn you when a food you are logging matches an allergy you declared, and can hide foods that don't match your diet preference.
This is an aid, not a safety check. It matches on food names and a table of related ingredients. It cannot see hidden ingredients, cross-contamination, preparation methods, recipe changes, or anything in a dish it does not recognise. An absent warning is not a clearance.
If you have a serious allergy, read the label and ask the cook. Do not use this app to decide whether a food is safe for you.
6. Your account
You sign in with Google. You are responsible for keeping access to that account secure, and for everything done through it in the app. Tell us at sulabsstudio@gmail.com if you believe your account has been used without your permission.
One account is for one person. If you hand your phone to someone else and they sign in, the app moves to their data — it does not merge the two.
7. Subscription, billing and cancellation
Ojas is a paid app.
- Price: ₹3,000 per year in India (about ₹250 a month), US$29.99 per year in the United States, and a comparable local price in every other country. Google Play shows the exact amount in your own currency before you confirm. There is one plan; there is no monthly tier.
- Introductory and promotional pricing: we may offer Ojas at a reduced price — a launch discount, a festive or new-year offer, or a first-year rate. Where we do, the reduced price applies only for the period stated, and the subscription then renews at the standard price in force at that time. Google Play shows you the exact amount you will be charged, and the amount of any renewal, before you confirm. It is the standard price that renews, not the offer price.
- Free trial: 7 days. The day you start counts as day 1. We send a reminder before it ends.
- Auto-renewal: the subscription renews automatically each year at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Trials convert to a paid subscription automatically unless cancelled before they end.
- How to cancel: in Google Play → Subscriptions, at any time. Cancelling stops the next charge; you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for.
- Who bills you: all purchases are processed by Google Play under Google's own terms. We never see or hold your card, UPI or bank details.
- Refunds are handled by Google Play under its refund policy. Where your local consumer law gives you a further right to a refund — including the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 in India and the statutory withdrawal right in the EU/UK — that right stands.
- Price changes apply only to future renewal periods, and Google Play will notify you before any increase takes effect.
Some early users have permanent free access, granted by us. That is a gift, not a contract, and it does not extend to anyone else.
If a payment fails or is reversed, we may suspend access to paid features until it is resolved.
8. What you may and may not do
You may use Ojas for your own personal, non-commercial food tracking.
You may not:
- resell, sublicense or redistribute the app or its content;
- copy or extract the food database, or use it to build a competing product;
- reverse-engineer, decompile or tamper with the app, or attempt to bypass the paywall or our backend;
- use automated means to make requests to our services, or make requests at a volume that a person could not;
- upload anything unlawful, or any photograph of a person who has not agreed to it;
- use Ojas to give nutrition or medical advice to anyone else as a service.
We may suspend or end access for anyone doing these things.
9. Your data and your content
Your diary is yours. Export it any time from Profile → Help & account → Backup & restore, and delete everything — device and cloud — with Delete account. What we collect and why is set out in full in the Privacy Policy.
Photos you scan are sent for identification and are not stored by us.
Anonymous contributions. When you log an AI-estimated food, an anonymous record of the dish name and the amount you logged is sent to us to improve estimates for everyone. It carries no identifier and cannot be traced back to you. You grant us the right to use, aggregate and publish those anonymous, non-identifying contributions as part of the app's food data — permanently, and including after you stop using Ojas, because they cannot be located or un-mixed after aggregation. This licence covers only anonymous contributions and nothing else you enter.
Your dish names stay yours. Naming a dish in your own language does not give us any claim over it beyond the anonymous use just described.
10. Third-party content and services
Ojas relies on services run by other people:
- Anthropic (Claude) — AI estimation and coaching text.
- Google (Firebase, Play) — accounts, backend, billing.
- Open Food Facts — packaged product data, licensed under the ODbL and credited where it appears.
- Android Health Connect — activity data, only if you connect it.
Brand names shown for packaged foods are their owners' trademarks. Ojas is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any food brand it names.
These services can change, break or become unavailable, and features that depend on them may stop working with little notice.
11. Availability, changes, and ending your use
We may change, add or remove features, and we may update these terms. For material changes we will update the "Last updated" date and tell you in the app. Continuing to use Ojas after a change means you accept it.
We do not promise the app will always be available or error-free. AI features in particular depend on services outside our control.
You can stop using Ojas at any time by cancelling your subscription and deleting your account. We may end your access if you break these terms, if we stop offering the app, or if we are required to. If we discontinue Ojas, we will give reasonable notice so you can export your data.
12. Liability
Ojas is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind beyond those that cannot be excluded by law.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for any health outcome, dietary decision, missed diagnosis or allergic reaction arising from your use of the app. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited under Indian law — including your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
13. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of Cuddapah have exclusive jurisdiction, without affecting any right you have to bring a claim in your local consumer forum.
Talk to us first. Most problems are settled by email: sulabsstudio@gmail.com. For privacy complaints, contact our Grievance Officer, named in the Privacy Policy. For consumer complaints in India you may also approach the National Consumer Helpline or your local consumer commission.
14. Before this is published
Published for transparency; not a term of these terms.
Fill every placeholder, and make §2's age match the Privacy Policy's.Done (26 August 2026) — both documents state 18, which is also the DPDP Act's threshold below which verifiable parental consent is required.- §7 describes billing that is not live. In-app purchasing is stubbed and nobody can be charged today. Google Play Billing, the subscription product and the 7-day trial offer must exist in Play Console before this section is true.
Confirm the reminder promised in §7.Verified:scheduleTrialEndingis called when the trial starts and fires on day 5. It is a local notification, so it does not arrive if notifications are switched off — §7 says "we send a reminder", which is true of the app, not of a channel we control.- Have a lawyer review this and the Privacy Policy together — particularly §12, the anonymous-contribution licence in §9, and the health wording in §3–§5.
A first-run screen must record that the user accepted these terms and the Privacy Policy, with the version and a timestamp.Done — the consent gate stores the timestamp and both document versions, and it reads those versions out of the**Version:**line of the documents themselves rather than from a constant, so bumping a version here re-prompts users automatically. Both files are bundled as app assets, which makes the copy a reviewer reads, the copy published at the public URL and the copy shown in Profile → Help & account the same file.
